PRCP - Pre-Registration Consolidation Placement

My Pre-Registration Consolidation Placement (PRCP) - which is my attachment starting from, 26th March - 4th May, finally come to an end.

During this 6 weeks, i try my very best to be the role of a Staff Nurse and i believe that i can be one responsible and caring SN. I made it eventually. There are 13 of us in the same ward who made it but unfortunately, only 10 passes. In fact, i felt quite sad cause this 3 people, who didn;t made it, are my classmates.

I am really fortunate to be able to pass out in this ward, cause most of the staff are very willing to teach us. If i had a choice i would like to come back to this ward to work again. But unfortunately, their Human Resource is not very efficient. I sent in my application since few months ago but they didn;t call me up for an interview. (Only with the Ward Manager recommendation then they start calling.) When they call me up for an interview, it already too late. Since then, I have already sign my Letter of Offer with KKH, cause working with children is my interest too.

Now i really feel the pressure on my shoulder, cause i will be a real Regristed Nurse in exactly 1 month time. Things will not be the same as a student. A mistake can cause a life to be lost and i will have to answer for it. No more school or Lecturer backup. I am going to start work on 4th of June. I quite looking forward to it. My goals is to get my higher diploma in critical care and then next for a degree in nursing within the next 5 year. First 2 years for higher diploma then maybe go Australia for Degree with my friend, Shin Yee..

All my Classmate will all be going to different hospital for their job.

- Shin Yee, SGH

- Neo Sze Mine , CGH

- Pek Shan, NUH

- Lam Pei Ning, SGH

- Ong Ai Ean, CGH

- Wu Hui Mei, NUH

- Du Qing Lei, IMH

- Rosaidah, TTSH

- Francine, KKH

- Shuang Shuang, KKH

- Elaine Lai - SQ

- Aminah, CGH

Hee hee... The rest i not too sure where they going... But most of the un-sponsored ones almost have a placement in either a hospital or organisation.

I truthfully give them all my blessing and hope that everyone in my class have a great future ahead... Hope we will all keep in contact...

PS: See your guys at Graduation Day in July...
